Long term Florida resident, Michael DiDomenico grew up in St Petersburg. Michael says, "I have always been surrounded by art. Growing up my interests have always been artistic in one form or another. I have recently given up on working the 9 to 5 to pursue art full time. I have a few up coming shows and more are being added all the time. You can view info on exhibits and what I might be doing next at www.myspace.com/mikepua. This will be my main info source until my website is up and running."

5 Questions with Michael DiDomenico:

  1. What are your favorite pair of shoes? My nasty old Converse
  2. If you were on a desert island and could only take 3 cds with you to listen what would they be? 3 books? Music~1 Wilco- Yankee Hotel Foxtrot , 2 Mike Gordon- Inside In, 3 Elliott Smith- Self titled Books~1 Henry Miller- Tropic of Cancer, 2 Tom Robbins- Jitterbug Perfume, 3 Charles Bukowski- Women. Honestly this is too hard a question to ever properly answer, but this is better than no answer.
  3. If you could send one message to the world what would it be? Pay attention or you might just miss it!
  4. Name some sucky jobs you have held in the past, if applicable. I worked unloading 55ft trucks in 100degree heat. That sucked pretty bad.
  5. Do you feel that the Tampa bay Area is a viable area for working artists? I think the Tampa Bay area is an amazing place for artist and it seems to be growing in interest everyday.

the medium:

DiDomenico says, "I am a mixed medium artist. I use mostly acrylics though. I attached a picture of some of my work. It is Greta Garbo 20' x 28". Acrylic and paper tiles. Each paper tile is high gloss, hand folded and glued like roofing shingles to create the Garbo image."
